She disliked him. She really did. It was always so frustrating when he would take away the time that she usually spent with Hana. Hana was always so innocent, so sweet and so kind. She was the one person that she could easily open herself up to. She simply didn't feel as comfortable with others compared to the warm feeling she had when hanging out with Hana. (Except for Natsu of course. That guy could just make anyone feel happy.)But here he was, taking her away from her.

Manami glared at the person of her immense dislike. Ryuu.

Yes. She admitted that perhaps teasing him and messing with him was extremely childish. But seriously. Who cares?

"So Ryuu-chan~ I see you're reading a book, though I have to say-you should really exercise more to grow taller." she snickered.

Ryuu lifted his face from his book, rolled his eyes and then continued with his book. Nothing could keep him away from the book. Not even Manami's pestering and teasing. It was just way too interesting.

Manami huffed at being ignored before settling on the couch across from his, thinking of ways to get him to pay attention. But this was really strange. He usually would never just ignore an invitation to a insult match. He would always say something witty back. She frowned. Really weird.

"Where's Hana?" Now that got his attention.

His black eyes bore into her emerald ones before he spoke. "Shopping for ingredients with Natsu." Manami always found his voice odd. It wasn't gruff, but so smooth and soft. Before she realized, he was back into his book. Seeing that she wasn't going to get a response, Manami stood up, intending to go back to her room. Until she tripped.

Well..not exactly trip, maybe just her kicking the table by accident? And might I add: extremely hard table. She managed to stifle a yelp before crumpling onto the floor. God that hurt! Oh why oh why did she do such a clumsy thing? She was never clumsy! And worse of yet, she had to do it in front of Ryuu! Just what she needed, a reason for him to tease her! She hissed in pain as she tried to get up, only for her to slump down again. Her ankle was throbbing with so much pain and she bit back the tears that were forming in her eyes.

"Nami! You okay?" Manami blinked. She was so surprised, she didn't even comment on her nickname. When did he get so close? "God, you're clumsy." Kneeling down, Ryuu gently grabbed her ankle. "Let me see it." She blushed in embarrassment. Gosh! This was the worst. To her surprise, he was being very gentle as he examined her injury, his slender fingers gliding over the bruise that was beginning to form. And as soon as the fingers touched her, they went away as fast. Ryuu stood up and walked away.

Panic filled her momentarily. He was not just going to leave her their right? She whimpered as she tried to get up again.

"What are you doing idiot? Don't move!" She looked up, seeing him coming into the room again and a source of relief flooded through her. He came back.

"I swear, I leave for one moment to get bandages and ointments and the next? You injure yourself even more." She huffed at him in annoyance before facing the other away. He sighed as he wrapped his arms around her waist to lift her up. "Wait! What are you doing?" she squirmed, not comfortable with the contact.

"Stay still! Just putting you back on the couch!" She stilled and felt her cheeks warm in embarrassment. As soon as she was safely on the couch, he began to apply the ointment and wrap her ankle with a bandage. She closed her eyes and she sighed, her ankle feeling just a tiny bit better.

"Get on." Her eyes flew right open to see his back. "What?"

"Get on. I'll carry you back."

She blushed. "No way!"

He rolled his eyes. "I'm sure it'll be more comfortable for you to lay on your bed instead of the couch. Now get on before I drag you back."

She glared at him and slowly climbed onto his back.

Oh how she disliked him! The bossy, somewhat arrogant, Hana-stealer! He's just so infuriating! Just so rational!

But the worst thing about him was the fact that she couldn't hate him!

Oohhh! It was just so unfair....
Eeep-this is a Manami and Ryuu drabble. //cough. dont kill me please. No romance. Just a rocky friendship. This is the beginning where Manami doesn't like Ryuu a lot..but then after a lot of understanding, they become umm..friends. Ryuu feels slightly ooc, but I hope I portrayed Manami correctly.

I enjoy writing drabbles, nothing too serious. Couldn't come up with a good title for this one otl

Haha, lol, yes, no romance intended. Stick to the RyuuHana shipping >////<
But really, omg, this is a perfect way to make Manami at least think that it'd be okay to help him with Hana!
Who knew Ryuu is such a softie?
And of course, Manami has been portrayed correctly because you make everything perfect! Lol, I can't even maintain her personality....
oh gosh, this is super duper asdfghjkl cute, it's perfect (for friendship). Now... if only Ryuu was taller..........
